RICK HAUTALA has more than thirty published books, including the million-copy, international bestseller Nightstone, as well as Twilight Time, Little Brothers, Cold Whisper, Impulse, and The Mountain King. He’s written over sixty short stories which have appeared in national and international anthologies and magazines. His short story collection Bedbugs, published in paperback by Leisure Books in March, 2003 was designated one of the best horror books of the year by Amazon Books. His second collection of stories, Occasional Demons, was published in 2010.
A graduate of the University of Maine in Orono with a Master of Arts degree in English Literature (Elizabethan drama), Hautala lives in southern Maine with his wife, author Holly Newstein. His three sons, as well as Holly’s two sons, have all grown up and moved out. He served terms as vice president and later as trustee for the Horror Writers Association.
